### Responsibilities
As an Administrative Support Assistant at the New River Gorge National River, you will be responsible for:
* Controlling and monitoring expenses for the unit, including recommending budget adjustments to meet changing priorities or resource availability;
* Ensuring payment of all invoices and reconciling charges made;
* Advising staff on travel policies, including creating travel authorizations and vouchers;
* Tracking office property, by conducting inventories and maintaining related personal property databases;
* Preparing hiring packages for delivery to human resources staff;
* Keeping time and attendance for the office;
* Providing guidance to all staff on a variety of administrative policies and procedures; and
* Writing reports, correspondence and other documents using proper English grammar, spelling, and syntax

### Qualifications
**In order to be qualified for this position, you must possess**one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service, providing administrative support services for an office (e.g. maintaining files, keeping time and attendance, scheduling meetings or travel, etc.); reconciling payments and tracking expenditures against an office budget; revising office administrative procedures to improve their effectiveness or efficiency; and drafting a variety of written documents for review by management.
**In addition, all applicants must be able to type 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors based on a five minute sample.**
**You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit** **for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".**

Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses will be paid if the person selected for the position is from outside the local commuting area and is otherwise eligible for reimbursement of relocation expenses under the Federal Travel Regulations (such as current permanent Federal employees).
